Somehow, we’re already a month in.
Thirty days of people wandering in with curiosity.
Thirty days of laughter around the tables.
Thirty days of “I haven’t made something in years” turning into “I forgot how good this feels.”
When I opened māk, I hoped it would become a place where creativity felt accessible again – not something you needed to prepare for, research, or be “good at.” Just a place to land. A place to try something with your hands. A place to be around other humans doing the same. I wanted more than a workshop, I wanted a place to grab a drink with friends – and do something while catching up.
This first month has shown me that the community was ready for exactly that.

One of the most meaningful parts of this journey has been watching people choose to support small – not just māk, but the local makers whose work fills our shelves, the artists who teach here, and the neighbors who bring their friends in because they want this space to thrive.
Every time you choose a handmade gift over a big-box scroll, or spend an hour at the māk bar instead of wondering what to do on a Saturday, you’re supporting a whole ecosystem of creativity. It matters more than you know and I thank you
